Every trainer has a different style of training and a different idea of what training others should be like so make sure that you are choosing the right person to work with you.

If you are training for a marathon it is important that you find a trainer who is involved in running as well. A runner will be able to help you work on your form and give you tips that will help make race day easier. If you are training for a professional sport, try to find someone to train with who used to compete or coach. Not only will they have better understanding of how to help you train but they will understand where you need to be physically to compete.
All trainers have a different style of training and their training may not match your personality. If you are the type of person who is not looking for a friend in a trainer and you are looking for someone to push you really hard then your probably do not want to find someone who is soft spoken and gentle with you.
